After twenty years in the real estate management and brokerage business in the Chicago area, the Kase's sold their company and relocated to Traverse City, Michigan in 2001.
Dave and his wife, Becky, felt led to check out the ministry of Christ's Hope that ministered to people impacted by HIV/AIDS in Africa. In 2005 they traveled to Namibia, Africa and served in all three of Christ's Hope core ministries: children's homes, visiting Care and Compassion patients and working with local staff doing kids clubs and teaching Choose to Wait.
The experience and seeing the devastation of AIDS first-hand, had a huge impact on them. In 2006, Dave and Becky led a team from Traverse City on a mission trip to Kenya. It was another powerful experience and the Lord continued to lead them to become more involved. Dave joined the US Board of Directors and then in December 2006 at the Urbana Missions Conference, the Lord confirmed in Him to join Christ's Hope full time.
Since June of 2007, Dave has served as National Director for Christ's Hope, USA. With the support and partnership with Becky, he has traveled in Africa and the states sharing the plight of those with HIV/AIDS and the vision and impact of Christ's Hope to churches, schools and organizations.
Dave and Becky have two children; Caleb 15 and Amy 12.
Favorite activities include kayaking, biking, snow shoeing, eating, and hiking in the woods.
